Acceptable use
Use PitchDesk to take bookings for a real campsite, honestly. The rest of this page is detail.
Last updated 21 August 2026.
This policy is part of the terms of service. It is short because the rule is short: use PitchDesk to take bookings for a real campsite, honestly.
Do not
- Break the law with it, or use it to help somebody else break the law.
- Advertise a pitch you do not have, at a price you will not honour, on dates you are not open.
- Take money for a stay you do not intend to provide.
- Use it to collect card details or personal data for any purpose other than the booking.
- Upload photographs, text or logos you do not have the right to use.
- Send marketing to your guests through the booking emails. Those emails are for the booking.
- Try to get into another account, another campsite's data, or any part of the system that is not yours.
- Scan, probe, load test or attack the service. Report a vulnerability instead. The security page says how.
- Copy the software, take it apart, or use it to build a competing product.
- Resell PitchDesk or run it as a service for other campsites without a written agreement with us.
- Use automated tools to create accounts, scrape the site or hammer the API.
- Upload malware, or anything designed to interfere with the service or with somebody's computer.
- Post content that is obscene, defamatory, harassing, or that discriminates unlawfully against your guests.
Do
- Keep your prices, availability and cancellation policy accurate, because your guests rely on them and consumer law requires it.
- Keep your login to yourself, and tell us if you think it has been compromised.
- Tell us when something looks wrong. A quiet bug report is worth more to us than a loud review.
What happens if you break it
It depends on what you did. Usually we email you, explain the problem and give you a reasonable time to fix it. For something serious or unlawful, or where guests are at risk of losing money, we may suspend the account straight away and tell you afterwards. We may have to report certain things to the police or to a regulator.
If we suspend or close your account we will still give you a way to export your data, unless the law stops us.
Reporting a problem
If you think a campsite is misusing PitchDesk, email hello@pitchdesk.co.uk with the details. If your complaint is about a stay, a refund or the condition of a campsite, we cannot decide it, because the contract for the stay is between you and the campsite. Take it up with them, and with your card issuer if it comes to that.
The rest of the small print
Questions about any of this go to hello@pitchdesk.co.uk and a person will answer.
