PitchDesk

Help and support

Support is by email and it is included in the £7.99. This page also answers the question every booking system dodges: when a camper has a problem, who do they talk to?

If you run a site

Email hello@pitchdesk.co.uk. Tell us the name of your site and what you were trying to do. If it is about one booking, quote the reference, which looks like ABC-123.

Screenshots help more than descriptions. If something looked wrong on your phone, a photograph of the screen is a perfectly good bug report.

We will tell you what we have found and what we are doing about it. If something is broken in the software, fixing it is our job and it does not cost you anything.

There is no telephone line. If that matters to you, it is a fair reason to choose a different supplier, and we would rather say so here than have you find out in August.

Setting up

If you would rather not set the site up yourself, send us your prices, your pitch numbers and your rules and we will build it with you during the free 30 days. That is included too.

Email us

One address for everything: sales questions, setup help, bugs and billing.

hello@pitchdesk.co.uk

Include your site name. Include the booking reference if there is one.

Something urgent, on a Saturday, with a queue at the gate

Take the booking on paper and email us afterwards. Nothing you do by hand is lost, and a booking added later still lands in the same calendar. Never leave a family standing there while you wait for a reply.

If you are a camper

Contact the campsite. The booking is with them: they set the price, they wrote the cancellation policy you agreed to, they took the payment into their own account and they are the only people who can change your dates or refund you.

Their name, telephone number and email address are at the bottom of the confirmation email you were sent, and on your own booking page, which is the link in that same email.

If you have lost the email, search your inbox for the site name, then look in your spam folder. If you still cannot find it, email us with the site name, the dates and the email address you booked with and we will point you back to the right people.

We are the software the campsite uses. We are not the campsite and we cannot cancel, move or refund a booking on their behalf.

Why it works this way

The camper's contract is with the campsite. The money went into the campsite's own account. Putting a third party in the middle of that would make everything slower and would not give anybody a better answer.

It is also what makes commission-free pricing possible. Nobody is holding your money, so nobody needs to charge a percentage for holding it.

Things owners email about most

The booking form is not showing on my website.
Nine times out of ten the snippet went into a text block rather than a code or embed block, and the website builder has printed it as words or stripped it out. Put it in a Custom HTML block in WordPress, an Embed Code element in Wix or a Code block in Squarespace. If it still does not appear, email us the address of the page and we will look at it.
A guest says they did not get their confirmation.
Check the email address on the booking first, because a typed address is the usual answer. Then ask them to look in spam. You can resend the confirmation from the booking, and their booking page link works whether or not the email arrived.
A balance payment failed.
The reason the bank gave is on the booking. The camper has been emailed a link to pay it. Expired cards are the common cause. What happens next is your call under your own cancellation policy.
I need to refund somebody.
Refund from the booking, in full or in part. It comes out of your Stripe balance and reaches them in a few working days. Stripe keeps its processing fee on a refunded payment, which is worth knowing when you write your policy.
I double booked because I took one on the phone.
Add telephone bookings to the calendar as soon as you take them and the form will not sell those nights. If it has already happened, cancel or move one booking and tell the guest yourself, from your own email address, before they set off.
I want to cancel my subscription.
From your own settings page. It stops at the end of the month you have paid for and nobody will ring you about it. Your bookings stay readable and you can export them.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, whenever you like: bookings and guests as a spreadsheet. It is your data and there is nothing to ask for.
